SWEEP!!!!!! Social Exposure and Embracement Program orgainzed by fes
Lets see how many camps i have gone to in the past.....
So far I've been to youth camp, family camp (both which is my church of course),children's camp,Girls camp,GLO bible school,CF camp,BRATs (which is a non christian camp because its organized by The Star)
wow,i've really been to a lots of camps but of all the camps,SWEEP is one of the most different camp i have ever been to :o
Why do i say that???
cause it have left a huge impact and opened up my heart and soul to social work,to social issues and to the cruelty of human beings.
This camp is SO MUCH different than all the other camps i've been to
Usually every camp i went to is all about christian living and discipleship
but this time, this camp is WAY different......They send us to all kind of places
They send us to attachments at various places
places like MAB (Malaysian Association for the Blind),UV (United voices for disable people) and Refugees school centre
I went to MAB and refugees centre each of which i spent for 3 days
We also went to visit UNHCR (United Nations High Commisionner for Refugees) to understand refugees,Taman Prima Selayang to understand porvety, watch a movie about the life of Atwone Fisher to understand abused and PT foundation which is for all the gays, transsexual, transgender, drug users and sex workers(prostitute in case u don't know) to understand vulnerable community.....
Before i went to SWEEP, I was just an katak di bawah tempurung kind of gurl...I didn't really care much for the society and i've been ignoring news of social illnesses all the time....the whole time...
yes,i've been very VERY IGNORANT of all the terrible and disturbing things that is happening around me....When i went to SWEEP and visited the "real" society, then only did i realized that all the things that are happening in our society is actually breaking God's heart...
At first,i tried not to look at it differently and even look at it indifferently but i failed cause the more i looked at it (the society) the more i felt sad and also angry at the same time
Why is all this happening???
Why is this world is so terrible and full of wickedness and cruelty???
This what i wrote when Lian Chui told us to write down our questions as the 1st week ended....
and many others as well ask WHY?????
Discrimination
Poor people
Drug Addicts
The Disabled
Refugees (People who was forced to flee their country because of persecution)
The Homeless
The Abused
All of the above i've mentioned is the people i've been visiting except for the abused(didn't get a chance to visit)
I think i will write about all about my social experience when i upload the pictures later...
all i can say is
My perspective of life have change

Dear Hannah,
Praise God. I'm indeed very glad that God chosen you to witness those issues. I believe that this experience is the beginning of your future journey in discovering humanity. Nursing is of course part of your future journey. May God transform and renew your mind to fit into this witnessing.
